What follows is a brief secular excerpt of the complimentary chapter I am offering to you, my readers. If you enjoy what you read, please don’t hesitate to download the complete piece below.
“Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
~Abraham Lincoln
When do you find it hardest to stay positive?
Most likely, it’s when you face your most challenging situations in life. It’s easy to become negative when negative things happen to you. But even when things seem okay, it can be tough to shake a sense that the world is a negative place. Wars, collapsing markets, shootings, road rage – it goes on and on. And while positive stories happen every day, that’s not what we see on the front page of the paper: that’s not what we see on the television or hear on the radio.
Negative sells. That’s just the way it is.
That’s the bad news. I try not to bring bad news without bringing some good news, too. The good news is that even with all this negativity, you can be a positive thinker. You can train – or re-train – your mind to focus on the good things in your life rather than dwelling on the bad.
Throughout the following pages, we’ll look at seven brain-based tips rooted in science that can help you remain positive in your quest for more happiness, bigger success, or greater purpose. But that’s only if you’re willing to do two things: 1) Explore what science has discovered about the brain and how it works, and 2) actually apply what you learn in each of the seven brain-based tips to your everyday life.
This will create an expanding cycle of positivity both within you and around you!
